Cain & Alexis Young
How We Meet
Auburn, AL - January 2001
We met in college at Auburn University in January of 2001 through mutual friends. We started dating around my 21st birthday on January 31st. We dated for 3 and 1/2 years before we got engaged in August 2003. Cain proposed on August 14 in front of Samford Hall on the Auburn University Campus. We were married exactly one year later in the Auburn United Methodist Chapel on Magnolia Avenue. This is the same room in which Auburn University was founded in 1856 as East Alabama Male Methodist University.
We went on a cruise for our honeymoon for a week and then moved to Dallas/Ft. Worth for my job in construction. We attend Northwood Church in Keller, TX. In 2005 we moved to a new apartment in Grapevine, Texas. Grapevine is a nice city that is located in the center of DFW, but it feels like "Small Town, USA." Grapevine has some of the biggest attractions in the DFW area; including the Gaylord Texas, Great Wolf Waterpark, Grapevine Mills Mall, and several others. We have been very happy in this community and we plan to buy a house in 2009.
In our free time we like to go camping, fishing and traveling. We have many interest and we try to spend alot time outdoors. We have a garden of flowers on our patio and three Ume trees. The Ume tree is also known as A Japanesse Plumb (Apricot) and is where Alexis gets her middle name, Umeko.
