Summers of 1998 & 2000The summers of 1998 & 2000, I worked for 12 weeks each as a camp counselor in Great Falls, Virginia with inner city children. I also spent about half the time in the city working with the same children.
New Orleans, Louisiana
Summer 1999I spent 13 weeks in New Orleans as a "port chaplain," which basically means I took care of the thousands of merchant marines from around the world that dock in New Orleans. I meet people from 32 different countries covering 6 continents. I lived in the city and drove almost 5,000 miles in 15-passengar van that summer.
Maripa, Venezuela
Summer 2001Maripa is a town on the border of the Amazon that I traveled to while in college. I went with the Auburn Wesley Foundation for three weeks on a medical/construction team.
Dallas / Ft. Worth
Summers of 2002 & 2003I interned with Austin Commerical, L.P. for 12 weeks both summers on a Vivarian project and high-end office building. I split my time between being a field engineer and office engineer. I was given a tremendous amount of responsiblity and ultimately signed with Austin Commerical after finishing my Master's Degree from Auburn University.
